TO GOD BE THE GLORY...

To God be the Glory, Great things He hath done!
So loved he the world that He gave us His SON,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Great things He had taught us,
Great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son,
But purer, and higher, and greater will be,
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,

And give HIM the glory, great things He hath done!

February 2nd-The day after

Today is the "day after" the blizzard.  Have you noticed how clean everything looks?  All the dead leaves are covered and it is as if they were gone forever---"whiter than snow".  Remember the passage from Isaiah, 1:18 ??  "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow." This is a wonderul reminder of the work Christ accomplished-fulfilled on the cross.  The beauty of this snowfall is apparent everywhere we look.  Everything is covered with a blanket of glittering snow.  Only after our lives continue and we go about our daily routines do we see the blackened areas where the snow has been grated and is piled high.  But God has given us a reminder (and in Missouri it is usually every winter) --a snow that covers everything!  How often we forget.
